National Gallery of Art

The National Gallery of Art and its attached Sculpture Garden is a national art museum located on the National Mall. Educational and enrichment programs for visitors are central to the mission of the National Gallery of Art. Open to the public and free of charge, the museum was privately established in 1937 by a resolution of the United States Congress.

On Thursday, October 11 at 6:00 pm, celebrate 40 years of the gallery's East Building with a disco birthday party! Hear music from DJ Kelton Higgins and enjoy a light-up disco floor, disco balls, and pop-up talks featuring works of art from the 1970s. Design birthday cards, play games from the disco era, and savor cake pops and empanadas. Register for this free event here.

The race starts with a toll of the funeral bell, continues throughout the cemetery and onto the Anacostia Trail for a ghostly evening full of spooky music and fun! Gather in the beer tent after the race to reward your survival. Costumes are encouraged, with prizes for best individual and team costumes! Run alone or form a team to compete with friends; register here.
