Juneteenth in DC
Juneteenth is a nationwide holiday, celebrated on June 19. It is also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Emancipation Day or Liberation Day and marks the emancipation of Black people who had been enslaved in the United States. On June 19 and over the holiday weekend, enjoy a variety of events and activities to celebrate Black history, freedom and expression.
