SAM AND DEDE, or My Dinner with Andre the Giant
Starting Thursday, January 13, j
oin the Washington Stage Guild as it presents a play about one of the unlikeliest of friendships. The alliance began when an aspiring writer, an Irish expatriate in France, gave a young man (whose remarkable size made him the object of derision) rides to school each day. The play suggests that over the years, Samuel Beckett and André the Giant discussed playwriting, pro wrestling, and where their lives had led them. An area premiere.

National Chamber Ensemble
The National Chamber Ensemble brings together performers, audiences, and composers to entertain and help audiences appreciate and enjoy the art of chamber music at a reasonable cost. NCE's performances and commissions of original musical works offer classic and contemporary chamber music. The Ensemble's Valentine's concert features two Brahms Sonatas for violin and piano and Robert Schumann's Sonata in A Minor. See the performance at Gunston Arts Center.
