Haikara-San: Here Comes Miss Modern

Celebrate the return of the monthly anime film screenings with Animezing, organized by the Japan Information & Culture Center! On Friday, August 20 and for 72 hours, enjoy Haikara-San, a monumental work of girls' comics from creator Yamato Waki. Haikara-San is also available in print, and as an animated TV series and a live-action film. 

Embassy of Brazil
The first Brazilian Diplomatic Mission was stablished in the United States a little over a year after Brazil declared its indipendence on January 21, 1824. Then, in 1907, U.S. Ambassador Robert S. McCormick and his wife Katherine purchased the land that now holds the Embassy of Brazil. The following year, the couple commissioned John Russell Pope to design the residence, a beutiful building located on Massachusetts Avenue in northwest Washington.
