Capitol Conversations - The Capitol as a Civil War Hospital

The Capitol – an office building, Congress' meeting place, a hospital? On Friday, April 23,  join the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center in an online conversation to learn about how and when the Capitol served as a hospital for soldiers during the
Civil War. This is a free event, but registration is required. Don't miss it.

Passport DC@Home--Coming to Your Computer Screen

We couldn't let another May pass without engaging with Washington's diplomatic community and celebrating International Cultural Awareness month in the District of Columbia. While the pandemic prevents us from producing the used-to-be-annual embassy open house program, many embassies have curated a collection of videos that feature the tourist attractions people travel thousands of miles to experience. If an online cooking demonstration can't fully fill your cravings, we'll introduce a new feature next week that we think you'll find pleasing to your palate. It all starts on Saturday, May 1. Oh, and if you can't wait until next May to visit an embassy, put an "X" on your calendar on Saturday, October 16, 2021 because if health officials permit, we'll hold an autumn version of Around the World Embassy Tour.
