Zenith Gallery

Since its opening in 1978, Zenith Gallery has established deep roots in the nation's capital and with artists and collectors across the U.S. The Gallery continues its 40th Anniversary celebration with a new exhibit from Stephen Hansen. In this, his third Great Moments in Art show at Zenith, Hansen has recreated selections from two centuries of painting, and then added small sculpted painters on scaffolds who appear to be doing the actual painting. In each charming parody, Hansen's survey of great paintings is sure to please. This exhibit is on display until December 1.

Damageable Perfection

Damageable Perfection is a special solo art exhibition at the Korean Cultural Center by 2018 Artist of the Year Euyoung Hong. In this exhibit, Euyoung Hong's work explores the social relationships between urban spaces, objects, and politics. Hong examines how familiar concepts are transformed by urbanization, such as changing ideas of urban land use, the politics of space, and social vs. spatial production and transformation. This exhibit is on display through November 30. RSVP to attend the opening reception on Friday, November 9.

Exploring the Artic:
Culture and Climate Change

On Wednesday, November 14, join the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History for an exploration of the impact of climate change on northern peoples, both ancient and modern. Using case studies of groups like the Vikings, the ancient Mongolians, Eskimos, and modern residents of Arctic regions, museum archaeologist Bill Fitzhugh reviews the range of human interactions with the environment in the frozen north. This event is free but registration is requested.

Rodarte, the American luxury fashion house, is featured in the first fashion exhibit organized by the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Founded by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy, Rodarte is known for its blend of modern femininity, fine craftsmanship, and California influences. Through a selection of looks from pivotal collections, as well as accessories, runway videos, and video shorts, this exhibition offers an overview of the first 13 years of the Mulleavys' work through the lens of contemporary art and fashion.
