DC descends on the capital from October 31 to November 4. The art fair is bringing its unique formula to DC's Union Market. Join Superfine! founders Alex Mitow and James Miille in the lobby at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden on Friday, November 2 at 9 am, to hear them talk abut what led them to develop their approach to art fairs. From panel discussions with local art luminaries to art movie nights, Superfine! DC is the ultimate people's art fair. |  Women Who Make Ibero-America: Power Behind the Everyday The Embassy of Brazil and Ibero-American Cultural Attachés Association invites you to a photo exhibition celebrating the power of women in everyday life. Photographer Guilherme Pupo portrays Juliana Medeiros, founder of a group of volunteers in Curitiba, Brazil, that collects flowers to decorate wedding cerimonies and make bouquets to be distributed to nursing homes. Women Who Make Ibero-America: Power Behind the Everyday is on display at Hillyer Art Space from November 2 to December 17. An opening reception is this Friday, November 2 from 6 pm to 9 pm. |  Evenings at the Edge On Thursday, November 8, the National Gallery of Art's Evenings at the Edge marks the change in seasons with pop-up talks, art making, and performances. Learn how to paint with light, stargaze on the Gallery's rooftop terrace, and light up the dance floor with tunes from the sensational DJ Neekola and electric cellist Benjamin Gates. Talks will explore how artists use light and shadow to enhance their work. Specialty fare and beverages include black-and-white cookies and a dark-and-stormy-inspired cocktail. This event is free, but registration is required. | John Lennon: The Green Album John Lennon achieved superstardom with the rock and roll band, The Beatles. But before Lennon travelled the globe playing music, he saw the world in a different way - through stamps. John Lennon's boyhood stamp album, including 565 stamps on more than 150 pages, are on display at the National Postal Museum. The exhibition coincides with the U.S. Postal Service's issuance of the John Lennon Forever stamp, honoring the musician.
