French Festival

Celebrate Bastille Day on Saturday, July 14 with a full day of traditional French activities along with the grandeur of Hillwood's French decorative arts collection. Travel back and immerse yourself in the music, dance, and theatre from France two centuries ago. Your young travel companions will enjoy making their own bergère or Napoleon-style hats and playing lawn games among the lush gardens. It is a rain or shine event to enjoy.

Dave

Dave a world premiere musical comedy opens tomorrow evening at Arena Stage for a multi-week run! Adapted from the film of the same name, Dave Kovic is a high school teacher and presidential lookalike, hired as a stand-in by the Secret Service. Why? What does the First Lady think? The light-hearted look at the Oval office is perfect summer fare—a delicious combination of music and laughs performed by a talented ensemble and produced by a well-seasoned creative team.

DC United and Audi Field

DC United hosts its inaugural game at Audi Field on Saturday evening, July 14! The new facility ends United's decade long wait for a custom-made home to replace RFK Stadium. Audi Field, a 20,000-capacity soccer venue, at Buzzard Point in Southwest DC, is only two blocks from the Nationals Park baseball park. The home stadium for the DC United team of Major League Soccer, Audi Field can host a variety of sporting and cultural events, community activities, and concerts. The site has a bike valet and mixed-use retail and residential space, making it a destination for fans and DC residents.
