The music of Praetorius, Schütz, Schein, and Scheidt is performed, along with festive dances and canzonas. Featured performers include acclaimed organist Adam Pearl, viol consort Arcadia Viols, and vocal ensemble Cathedra. The show is from December 15 to December 23. | Palimpsestus: Image & Memory Palimpsestus: Image & Memory surveys artistic trends and visual culture that have developed in Latin America in the second half of the Twentieth Century. The 70 artworks on display, produced between 1900 and 2014, include more than 30 artists from 10 different countries. The exhibit explores art movements from abstraction to new figuration, through an experimental curatorial exercise based on antagonistic and anachronistic visual essays. The term Palimpsest, a capitalistic practice stemming from the scarcity of paper as a good for 15 centuries, is appropriated by the curator to describe the relativity and interrelation of art narratives and aesthetic discourses. See this exhibit at the Art Museum of the Americas, Organization of American States, through March 25. | National Children's Chorus Concert The National City Christian Church will host its annual Fall Showcase celebrating the talents and achievements of all of its ensembles in the Junior and Senior Divisions. From the Prelude Level featuring children as young as five years old, through the Debut Ensemble with teens, the Fall Showcase will highlight the progression of vocal skills from beginner to advanced in a uniquely loving and supportive environment.
