Get to know neighbors from the community and share a meal together. Activities include the Unity Project, an interactive public art project that helps weave a web of connectedness among our different identities, and People Bingo (with prizes!). Reserve your space to dine and to see the Washington Revels, a multigenerational performing arts community that celebrates music, dance, stories, and drama from around the world and across the centuries. The evening ends with Havdalah, the Jewish ritual that marks the end of Shabbat. |  Sommerfest Join this year's awesome Sommerfest on Friday, September 8 at the Goethe-Institut! Learn about the work of the Goethe-Institut, participate in cool activities, and end the day with some of DC's rad punk bands. Explore the Goethe-Institut, play a language game, discover the Germany Unwrapped (Deutschland im Koffer) exhibition and talk to staff. Old Europe Restaurant will be on site selling German food and drinks. Entrance is on 20th Street midway between I and K Streets, NW. |  WalkingTown DC 2017 Cultural Tourism DC invites you to grab your walking shoes and join us for DC's best public tour program featuring more than 50 guided walking tours throughout the city. WalkingTown DC is a nine-day festival of 'bite-size' lunchtime tours, after-work 'happy hour' tours, and longer weekend tours of DC's neighborhoods. The program runs from Saturday, September 16 through Sunday, September 24. You'll see and learn about the history, culture, environment, and art of Washington, DC. Licensed, professional tour guides, community and government leaders, and neighborhood historians lead the tours. The tours are free, but you must register.
