 | |  Embassy of Malawi The Embassy of the Republic of Malawi was one of more than 70 embassies that participated in the 10th anniversary of Passport DC embassy open house this past May. Thousands of people visited the Embassy to experience Malawi's culture through dances, fashion, tourism displays, and food samples of Malawian trade products, such as Mzuzu and Njuli coffee, Chombe tea, rice, and chili sauces. Throughout the year, the Embassy works hard to facilitate and coordinate economic activities relating to trade, investment and tourism in the United States including aid and technical assistance. Embassy staff, like its counterparts in the other 189 embassies and missions in DC, also visits and assists communities of its nationals in the U.S. | |  |  Taste of the World This Saturday, July 8, watch the Washington Nationals take on the Atlanta Braves and celebrate Washington, DC's international community! Savor authentic culinary delights of the participating Embassies as you learn about their countries and their diplomatic missions here in DC! |  Annual Capital Fringe Festival The Capital Fringe Festival provides an outlet for creative, contemporary performances of all kinds. Founded in 2005, Capital Fringe supports DC's arts community by connecting cutting-edge artists. The 2017 Festival includes 86 productions spanning dance, drama, comedy, musicals and opera as well as three free music concerts. Performances will take places in multiple venues located within a ten-minute walk of the group's year-round headquarters in Logan Fringe Arts Space.  | | | | |  WalkingTown DC is Cultural Tourism DC's longest running program. It is a nine-day festival of lunchtime, happy hour, and extended tours of DC's neighborhoods. The 2017 edition will run from Saturday, September 16 through Sunday, September 24 and can include more than 50 top quality tours. Do you want to be part of WalkingTown DC? Do you want to give a free, special tour of some segment of Washington, DC? If you provide your time and talent, we will provide promotion, participant registration, and post-tour evaluations. WalkingTown DC is a terrific way to promote a neighborhood, organization, or business.
