 | | The Embassy of Azerbaijan The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan opened on Embassy Row in Washington, DC, in 1992, following the dissolution of the Soviet Union. This past May, the Embassy of Azerbaijan was one of more than 70 embassies that participated in the 10th anniversary of Passport DC. During the annual program, the embassy invited numerous area residents and visitors to learn about Azerbaijan history and culture – the country's important presence along the Silk Road, its status as one of the oldest wine making countries in the world, and its natural beauty. From the peaks of the Caucasus Mountains, the forests of Lenkaran to the shores of the Caspian Sea, the variety of Azerbaijan's nature inspires its artists and musicians. Azerbaijan celebrated its Republic Day June 6. | | | The Sound of Music The Kennedy Center is alive with The Sound of Music!
