Fluent City happens throughout the city, bringing people together in unconventional ways. | |  |  National Cherry Blossom Festival (NCBF) Parade One of DC's largest spectator events, the NCBF Parade on April 8 runs for 10 blocks along iconic Constitution Avenue. Giant colorful helium balloons, elaborate floats, marching bands from across the country, celebrity entertainers, and performers burst down the parade route in a grand spectacle of music and showmanship seen only once a year during the National Cherry Blossom Festival. From the National Archives to the Washington Monument, spectators are excited by the pageantry and energy of the nation's premier springtime parade. Arrive early for the best views along the parade route. |  A Raisin in the Sun A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry has come to the Fichandler Stage in Arena Stage. Hansberry's masterpiece follows the Younger family as it yearns for a better life far from the confines of a Chicago tenement. Hope arrives in the form of an unexpected financial windfall, but family ties are strained when they realize they have different dreams and aspirations. A Raisin in the Sun paints the African-American experience in powerful strokes.
