The Guild of Professional Tour Guides

Since 1985, The Guild of Professional Tour Guides of Washington DC has promoted tourism to the nation's capital. Comprised of members who provide a variety of different tours in 15 different languages, affiliates that are tour operators and destination management companies, and organizations that offer services to the touring public and community, The Guild is a valuable resource to anyone wanting to learn about Washington, DC. Its members are ambassadors of Washington, DC, helping residents and visitors to DC to understand our complex system of government, interpret the meanings of many of DC's monuments and memorials, and provide a lasting impression of Washington.

 

Baby Screams Miracle

Obie Award-winner Clare Barron's new play is "a genuinely fragile, complex piece of work" (Time Out New York). See the DC premiere of this play about a family in the midst of an apocalyptic storm trying to pray their way to safety. Enter the eye of the storm with them, and you might bear witness to a surreal, harrowing tale of survival and forgiveness. At the Woolly Mammoth Theatre through February 26.

Carnival Family Day at Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum

In celebration of the exhibition 'Gateways', enjoy live entertainment, face painting, balloon art, mask making, storytelling, and other activities for the kids at this annual museum event this Saturday, February 11, from 12 – 4 PM. The 'Gateways' exhibit explores the experiences of Latino migrants and immigrants in four U.S. metro areas: Washington, DC; Baltimore, MD; Charlotte, NC; and Raleigh-Durham, NC.
