Ragnar Kjartansson Exhibit

Enjoy the final days of Ragnar Kjartansson exhibit at the Hirshhorn Museum. This exhibition features Kjartansson's most celebrated works, including many never before seen in the US. Deeply personal themes such as birth, death, and family meld with satirical commentary on politics and Western culture. The exhibit closes January 8.

Things Get Lost

Identity politics have taken on importance over the past few years. Artist Michaela Pilar Brown's work has grappled with issues attendant to the black body and its relationship to larger cultural themes of age, gender, race, sexuality, history, and violence. In Things Get Lost, Brown assembles photography, collage, and installation artworks to examine the collecting of heirloom objects as a means of identity construction and community history. See this exhibit on display at the Honfleur Gallery through January 28.
