Culture Kids DC

Washington, DC is a family-friendly town. Its museums, galleries, theaters, parks and gardens provide endless hours of educational and fun activities and events for kids of all ages.

History comes to life in such historic sites as Dumbarton House, President Lincoln’s Cottage, Ford’s Theater, the Woodrow Wilson House and Cedar Hill, the home of Frederick Douglass. Develop art appreciation at Corcoran Gallery of Art, Honfleur Gallery, the National Gallery of Art and the Phillips Collection. Then visit one of the many interactive exhibits in DC’s world famous museums -- the International Spy Museum, National Museum of Crime & Punishment, Anacostia Community Museum and the National Museum of American History.

If you want to learn more about international culture, visit one of DC’s embassies or international cultural centers. But don’t forget to take time to visit one of the city’s beautiful parks and gardens – the Gardens at Hillwood Museum, the U.S. Botanic Gardens and the Washington Youth Garden.

So kids (and adults, too) get ready for endless hours of fun!
