Guest artist Alice Ivanova, director

Acclaimed Russian director Alice Ivanova brings her unique perspective to this poignant drama. Written specifically for the Moscow Art Theatre, this play delineates the decay of the privileged class in Russia and the search for meaning in the modern world. It is the story of three refined and cultured sisters in their 20s who were raised in urban Moscow but have been living in a small, colorless provincial town for many years. With their father dead, their anticipated return to Moscow comes to represent their hopes for living a good lifewhile the ordinariness of day-to-day living smothers them.
