The Shakespeare Theatre Company presents the first play of the 2010 – 2011 Season: All's Well That Ends Well. STC Artistic Director Michael Kahn will direct this story of adventure and romance, examining the bounds of desire and the individual will. On his decision to set the play in the era of World War I, Michael Kahn comments, "I was looking for a period that was modern enough so that war would actually mean something to us and one where you could see that women were educated and were on the cusp of a change in their social role." In this timeless tale, Helena wants Bertram, and Bertram wants anything but marriage. With resourceful deception and ample persistence, our heroine Helena overcomes one obstacle after another. All's Well That Ends Well will run September 7-October 24, 2010 at the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street, NW).
"I looked at the new brochures for the Deanwood and Civil Rights Heritage Trails. I am always astonished and amazed at the work you do and the quality of it. Beautiful."
