The double-agent expected to lose her tiara in a game of strip poker, but the recently reincarnated protagonist didn’t expect to lose her fortune, especially since she can’t remember that she had one. This absurd comedy tells the story of five eccentrics in an abandoned town who pass the time by conning and manipulating each other out of a fortune. Their game is fueled by an exchange of lies, strikingly lucid truths, and fresh fruit. Loosely inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, Cousins offers a glimmer of hope to a world where money has become an all-too-pervasive problem.
