Charles Wilson Peale's family included 17 children; among them explorers, natural scientists, and portrait painters. Several Peales painted Thomas Jefferson and Lewis and Clark. Jefferson's grandson lived with the Peales. Would a national museum result? Meet at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial ground floor exhibit room.
