Join us for our popular evening event celebrating the ancient Japanese custom of admiring the harvest moon. This tradition dates back to the Heian period (794-1185) when the evening was marked with poetry and music by court aristocrats. Our otsukimi will feature live koto music, Japanese tea ceremony, children’s games, and more—all in the museum’s beautiful moonlit garden. Families are welcome. Attendees may bring their own picnic dinner or preorder a Japanese bento box. For ticket pricing and more information, visit www.us-japan.org/dc or call (202) 833-2210. This event is co-presented with the Japan-America Society of Washington, DC.
