The Newseum’s “Family Fun Deal – Kids FREE” promotion is designed to encourage families, particularly in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, to experience the Newseum. Up to 10 kids will be admitted free with each paid adult admission.
The “Family Fun Deal” promotion is sponsored by WTOP 103.5 FM, Washington’s all-news radio station. WTOP also is co-sponsor of the Newseum’s educational program through which Washington-area public and private schools receive free museum admission when they visit as a school group.
The “Family Fun Deal” discount will be promoted through a marketing campaign that includes radio, print, out-of-home and online advertising and social media outreach. “Family Fun Deal” tickets, like all Newseum tickets, are valid for two consecutive days.
In March, the Newseum opened “Elvis: His Groundbreaking, Hip-Shaking, Newsmaking Story,” an exhibit that includes rare artifacts on loan from Graceland. Other temporary exhibits now on display include “Athlete: The Sports Illustrated Photography of Walter Iooss,” “First Dogs: Presidential Pets in the White House,” and “Inside Tim Russert’s Office.” Popular permanent Newseum features include the 4-D film “I-Witness,” the Pulitzer Prize Photographs Gallery, the Berlin Wall Gallery and the NBC News Interactive Newsroom.
The Newseum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Admission is $19.95 for adults, $17.95 for seniors (65 and older), and $12.95 for youth (7 to 18). Annual memberships also are available. For additional information, the public may call 888/NEWSEUM (888/639-7386) or visit newseum.org.
“The DC Jazz Jam is a wonderful opportunity for jazz lovers to join together and celebrate this great American art form. Musicians and appreciators young and old alike come out to Dahlak to listen, create and improve. It’s a great, friendly atmosphere."
