After World War II, five-year-old Toxi – an Afro-German child whose father was part of the Occupation forces – is taken in by her grandparents. Friends and relatives are full of resentment and prejudice, but nobody can resist the charming little girl who is waiting for her father.
Robert A. Stemmle (b. 1903) began his career as a teacher, but soon moved to Berlin and co-founded the famous cabaret Die Katakombe. He wrote stage plays that were performed at the legendary Volksbühne Berlin.
"I looked at the new brochures for the Deanwood and Civil Rights Heritage Trails. I am always astonished and amazed at the work you do and the quality of it. Beautiful."
