Location

Renowned sculptor Ledelle Moe will be kicking off our 2011 educational programs by exploring new possibilities for our work. Ms. Moe will be discussing the Artist's perspective - our lens, how we see the world and our art; and, our vision as influenced by our training, experience and perspective. What happens when our work moves beyond the pedestal to a new context? What layers of expression are possible when our sculpture becomes something other than object? Ms. Moe will discuss materials and process and the influence of both on our work. She will explore how to identify our audience and market. We can't think of a better way to begin our 2011 series - "Breaking free to new levels artistically and professionally."

Ledelle Moe has an MFA in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University. Ledelle has had numerous solo exhibitions within the U.S. and South Africa. She was the recipient of the 2002 Joan Mitchell Award and the 2008 Kreeger Museum Artist Award. In addition to Chairing the Sculpture Department at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Ledelle is a prolific artist/sculptor.
