Embassy Discussion: Australia's Unsung Indigenous Heroes

Please join the Embassy of Australia in celebrating the achievements of Indigenous Australians as part of NAIDOC Week 2010.

Participate in an informal conversation with speaker Sonia Smallacombe, a Maramanindji woman and Social Affairs Officer with the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. Sonia will discuss how "Unsung Heroes" have shaped her life journey: the daughter of a stockman (cowboy) living on Northern Australian cattle stations to her current position at the United Nations in New York.
