Dance/MetroDC. The folks that brought you seven Flash Mobs this past Spring during Dance Is the Answer are sponsoring a competition, teaming up real people with choreographers to make a dance.

The big picture: A 3-minute dance will be created on you and your assembled group (friends/family/ coworkers) by a choreographer we supply. You’ll make a great dance, and raise some money for a charity. The competition will culminate at the final judging on October 6th, 2010, an hour prior to the 10th Annual MetroDC Dance Awards. The winning team will get to perform on the Awards that evening, with some of the best of dancers from across the region.

Some finer details: There’ll be a party mid-September for you to show the judges a sample of the dance, and get some feedback. There will be a winner for the best overall dance; there will also be prizes for the top placers in the contest, both based on scores as well as money raised.
