Our Bastille Day will be as “revolutionnaire” as always, in a great French atmosphere with our famous “crêpes, French cheese and Champagne”!
A live band will get people dancing during the first part of the evening and then a DJ will play classic and contemporary French tunes.
Attention! Due to the large attendance at this event, reservations are mandatory with prepayment before July 8 at 202-234-7911 or www.francedc.org. No reservation will be taken without payment or after this date. No entrance will be accepted without prior reservation.
For the first time ever, the Alliance Française de Washington is offering an online auction to benefit our cultural programs. The online bidding begins on June 18th and ends on July 8th at 6:00pm. A silent auction will follow at the Alliance Française during our Bastille Day event. Both online and silent auctions will showcase exclusive items that can be used in Washington, Paris, Brussels and elsewhere, including travel packages, fine dining, entertainment and luxury services, but some items will be available online only, so don't miss your chance to get a taste of French luxury and culture at exclusive prices, and visit our auction website.
“The DC Jazz Jam has provided a tremendous boost to DC’s indigenous jazz scene. [The] cadre of fine musicians at Dahlak have managed to create a warm, inviting, encouraging, and creative environment at their weekly jam sessions, which is no small accomplishment. Experienced professionals, like myself, attend the jam to relax, stretch out musically, and network with other players. But at the same time, the DC Jazz Jam has proved to be the perfect setting for younger talent to come out, and have some of their first experiences playing in front of an audience and to learn their craft in the laboratory of a nurturing jam session. In this manner, the DC Jazz Jam is but the latest chapter in Washington’s long history with America’s classical music, jazz.”
