The Washington DCJCC proudly presents author RICH COHEN, who will discuss his book Israel is Real: An Obsessive Quest to Understand the Jewish Nation and Its History (Picador) on Wednesday, July 14 at 7:30 pm as part of the Authors Out Loud series. JTA Washington Bureau Chief Ron Kampeas will lead an interactive discussion with Cohen. Take part in a timely conversation about the Jewish historical struggle for identity, the accomplishments and challenges of Zionism, and the Israeli and Palestinian entanglement. We’ll explore what all this means for American Jews and those concerned with the fate of Israel and its neighbors.

Rich Cohen. is a contributing editor at Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone. His work has appeared in many magazines and newspapers, including The New Yorker, Harper's and The New York Times. His books include Tough Jews, The Avengers, Lake Effect, Machers & Rockers, and Sweet and Low. He lives with his wife, children and dog in a hilly part of Connecticut.

This program is part of the ongoing AUTHORS OUT LOUD series at the Washington DCJCC. Enjoy an evening of entertainment and stimulating conversation with great authors and fellow readers. Meet the author, get your book signed and discuss your favorite books with friends over a glass of wine. Look for future events featuring rising stars of the Jewish literary scene.
