Cultural Programs of the National Academy of Sciences (CPNAS) is partnering with Leonardo, the International Society for the Arts, Sciences, and Technology, to present D.C. Art Science Evening Rendezvous (DASER), a monthly discussion forum on art and science projects in the national capital region. DASERs will provide the public with a snapshot of the cultural environment of the region and will foster interdisciplinary networking.
Historically, the artist has communicated, educated, and preserved the ideas of science. But how is the work of scientists, engineers, physicians, and experts from other disciplines informed by the creative processes of artists? How do artists use science and technology to advance the creative and cultural discourse? will be the topics covered in the forum.
This is the ninth in a series of “Brown Bag Lunch Creative Economy” forum and will have JD Talasek-Director Cultural Programs of the National Academy of Sciences (CPNAS) as a Special guest.

This tour delivers the goods. Being raised just outside of washington d.c. (Bethesda), I've gone on innumerable DC sightseeing tours in my lifetime. Every time a family friend or relative visited from out of town meant another trip down to the Mall, another sightseeing tour. Monument tours, ghost tours, "Duck" tours, you name it I've done it. But out of all the DC tours I've been on this was one of the best. I went last weekend with my nieces and nephews on the Capitol Hill tour, which lasted a little over two hours. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable of the historic sites and presented the information in a fun and lively manner. His enthusiam for the subject was infectious. He had my nieces and nephews in rapt atttention from start to finish. Highly recommend.
