The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan works toward the development of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and the United States.
On December 26, 1991, the U.S. established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan, becoming the first country to recognize its independence. Both the American Embassy in Kazakhstan and the Embassy of Kazakhstan in DC were opened in 1992. Since that time, Kazakhstan has had five ambassadors to the U.S.
In addition to its diplomatic mission, the Embassy presents a range of cultural programs throughout the year - including films, conferences, and concerts - that showcase traditional and contemporary Kazakh arts and heritage.
