The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) is a non-profit community arts education center offering year-round classes with teaching artists, and performance and exhibition opportunities in all of the artistic disciplines: music, theater, dance, photography, and visual arts.
Home to one of the few public darkrooms in the District of Columbia, a digital photography lab, ceramics studio, dance studio, art studio, and gallery space, CHAW offers a vast array of creative opportunities for novices and professionals alike.
CHAW’s mission is to build community through the arts, which is accomplished by serving early childhood, youth, and adult populations, as well as offering a tuition assistance program for individuals who may not otherwise have access to the arts.
Through various programs and community partnerships, the workshop offers the opportunity for exhibition and performance for area artists and performers.
