WHO WE ARE

The Istituto Italiano di Cultura (IIC) in Washington, DC is part of a network of 93 Italian government offices established throughout the world to promote Italian culture and civilization. Our Istituto has been serving the public in the Washington DC metropolitan area since 1980.

WHAT WE DO
Through a variety of events and programs held at the Istituto and other Washington area locations, we seek to share information about both historical and contemporary aspects of Italian culture and society. Among our activities are lectures, exhibits, musical programs, film series, and academic exchanges. Unless specifically noted, all our events are conducted in English.
HOW WE DO IT

Promoting Italian culture in the Washington, DC area also involves learning about American culture and fostering cultural exchanges. In order to reach the widest possible audience, the Istituto regularly joins with local cultural and academic institutions in co-sponsoring programs of mutual interest.
