Created to encourage greater participation across a wide spectrum of the city's diverse offerings, Art4All DC brings together 40 organizations to produce a schedule of events highlighting the music, theater, dance, fine arts, fashion and other forms of artistic expressions found across each quadrant of DC. The events run from September 6 to October 21, culminating with a Taste of Art All Night on Saturday, October 20 from 7 pm – 3 am and showcase four to five originally curated venues presenting work by selected artists, working in such media and forms of expression as performance art (dance, theatre, music, poetry) and visual arts (painting, photography, film, projections, sculpture) with street performers, artists and magicians, adding to the festive air of the event. The Taste of Art All Night will be the closing event of Art4All DC, a first-time effort to provide DC residents and visitors with a coordinated schedule of arts events taking place in the city during September and October. "By demonstrating a collaborative effort to bring more art to more people in more places in the city and sustaining that effort over an unprecedented, seven-week period, Art4All DC affirms the qualities of our city that led Forbes magazine to list DC among the top two coolest cities in the country", says Linda Donavan Harper, Executive Director, Cultural Tourism DC. The ceremonial kick-off for Art4All DCis represented by the Mayor's Arts Awards on September 13 from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm at the Lincoln Theater.
