Mixology for the Lovelorn, then and now
The Folger Shakespeare Library and the National Building Museum invite you to explore the intoxicating botanical world of A Midsummer Night's Dream as well as how early modern potions for love, heartache, and heart health transformed into modern-day spirits and cocktails. The August 19th roundtable features DC mixologists Derek Brown (Mindful Mixology) and Bridget Albert (Market Fresh Mixology Presents Life, Love, Happiness, and Cocktails) alongside historian Marissa Nicosia (Cooking in the Archives). The three will discuss historical potions and their recreation and the history and evolution of alcohol and cocktails.
