Adams Morgan PorchFest DC

It may never be easier to get up close and personal with the musical talent of DC than at this weekend's Adams Morgan PorchFest. Join thousands of area residents as they stroll by and linger at the front porches of homes and a few local businesses serving as intimate performance space for dome of DC's favorite local bands. Adams Morgan PorchFest DC is presented annually by Adams Morgan Partnership Business Improvement District. PorchFest is free and happens Saturday, October 5, from 2 pm to 6 pm.

Minhwa: The Beauty of Korean Folk Paintings

The Korean Cultural Center Washington, DC presents an exhibition of works by 19 living artists following in the footsteps of an iconic art tradition. This exhibition introduces minhwa, Korea's traditional folk paintings that depict dreams through artistic expressions. Minhwa are known for the bright colors, humorous drawings, and virtues embedded within imagery. Meet minhwa artist Stephanie S. Lee during the opening reception and art workshop on Friday, October 4, at 6 pm.


College Park Day

Celebrate College Park Day on Saturday, October 5, from noon to 6 pm at the College Park Aviation Museum! There will be helicopters, trucks and snow-plows available to touch as well as arts and crafts, face painting and a gigantic kids' zone. Enjoy live music from amazing bands as you fare available from several food trucks. Watch acrobatics and other interactive performances. The event is free and open to the public, as is admission to the museum.


Dead Man's Run

Sign up for the Historic Congressional Cemetery's annual Dead Man's Run, a bare bones race for dead serious runners. On Saturday, October 5, the race begins with a toll of the funeral bell, continues throughout the cemetery and onto the Anacostia Trail for a ghostly evening run full of spooky music and fun! Join in the beer tent after the race. Costumes are encouraged, with prizes for best costumes and team costume! The race starts at 6:00 pm.
