Alexander Ovechkin plays left wing for the Washington Capitals. He won the Hart Memorial Trophy for the National Hockey League’s Most Valuable Player in 2008 and 2009, lead the league in scoring in 2008, and was the league’s rookie of the year in 2006. He’s led the Capitals to playoff appearances in each of the last four years.

Cultural Tourism DC asked some notable Washingtonians to share with us their favorite places or events that are special and unique to DC.

  1. Verizon Center – Always great atmosphere…our fans are the best in the league. I love playing there!
  2. Café Milano – My favorite restaurant in DC. I usually eat there at least couple times a week.
  3. Georgetown Waterfront – Beautiful place to visit, get something to eat or go for a nice walk.
  4. Bar-code DC – Pretty cool restaurant/lounge with good food and drinks. Sick place to hang out with friends and watch games.
  5. Madame Tussauds – I always liked this museum but even more now since I have my own wax figure.
