The National Museum of American History's West Wing will undergo renovations, temporarily closing one of their more popular exhibits-- Bon Appétit! Julia Child’s Kitchen at the Smithsonian.
The exhibition, that allows a peek into Julia Child’s legendary Cambridge, Mass., kitchen, closes January 8, 2012. The kitchen will reopen in the late summer with a new exhibition focusing on food and wine in America.
Two other exhibits at the museum close on January 8 as well. HIV and AIDS 30 Years Ago is an exhibit that looks at the public health, scientific and political responses in the early years (1981-1987) of HIV-AIDS. Science in American Life: Robots on the Road explores how American society will react to recent research and innovations on mobile robots.
Take this last chance to see these exhibits, and then stay out of the cold with Warm Up to a Museum, a chance for locals to enjoy cultural institutions while few tourists are in town.
I would like to take the time to thank you for the support provided to our organization, Latin Fashion Week. The event was a huge success thank to the cooperation of company like Cultural Tourism DC and people like you.
