(July 21, 2011)--This week, the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington (JHSGW) announced the launch of its online archival catalog. Now researchers, students, educators, and the public are able to browse the Society’s treasures online anytime from anywhere.
The searchable online database allows new discoveries about Washington’s Jewish history. Currently the public has access to over 750 images through the catalog, as well as records on 226 objects, 680 archival documents & collections, and over 1000 photos—this is only a partial reflection of the Society’s growing collection.
The Society seeks donations of personal and family papers, photographs, organizational records, ritual objects, oral histories, and other memorabilia documenting the local Jewish experience. Contributions to the collections help preserve the history of the Jewish community for generations to come. To make a donation, contact the archivist.
The JHSGW archives may be reached at (202) 789-0900 or info@jhsgw.org. For more information about the Society and its collection, please visit www.jhsgw.org.
I would like to take the time to thank you for the support provided to our organization, Latin Fashion Week. The event was a huge success thank to the cooperation of company like Cultural Tourism DC and people like you.
