For the next few weeks the Honfleur Gallery will be hosting two new exciting and distinct Art4All DC exhibitions featuring artwork from renowned artists Arie Mandelbaum and Katherine Tzu-Lan Mann. While Arie Mandelbaum’s Love & Rage exhibit will feature his latest mixed media works on paper downstairs, upstairs will give viewers a different vibe; The Unquiet Kingdom by Katherine Tzu-Lan Mann will draw viewers eyes up to the ceilings.
The differences between the two artists are clear in both their approach and execution of their art. Taking 13 large-scale artworks, Mandelbaum draws inspiration from his 6 week residency in Anacostia to depict scenes he observed in the neighborhood during his stay. All of his art was created with his signature medley of tempera and mixed media on paper or canvas.
Featuring new site-specific installation paintings, Mann boasts art done in Sumi ink and acrylic on paper, mimicking their own imagery of contained chaos through their placement in the gallery. Mann titles her work as “baroque abstract”.
Both exhibits will be available until October 26th.
I would like to take the time to thank you for the support provided to our organization, Latin Fashion Week. The event was a huge success thank to the cooperation of company like Cultural Tourism DC and people like you.
