The Civil War In America

Commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, the Library of Congress will mount a new exhibit titled, “The Civil War in America.” Visitors to the exhibit will observe the intricacies of the Civil War from a firsthand view. Drawing items from across many collections already at the Library of Congress, the new collection is a compilation of materials that have never been on public view. They will attest to the valor, sacrifices, emotions, and accomplishments of those in both the North and South whose lives were affected by the bitter conflict of 1861 through 1865.

The Civil War in America exhibit will be on display until June 1, 2013 and is free to the public, Monday through Saturday from 8:30am-4:30pm, in the Southwest Exhibition Gallery of the Library of Congress Thomas Jefferson Building.
