"The Greater U Street Neighborhood Visitor Center opened Friday in a bid to help visitors rediscover area attractions from the past and present.
The visitor center, which is located at 1211 U St. NW. inside Ben’s Next Door, features Cultural Tourism D.C.’s new audio tour — “City Within a City: Greater U Street Heritage Trail” — and an updated version if the group’s Heritage Trail guidebook.
Planned as a “front door” to the historic African American neighborhood, the center will boast maps and shopping and dining information, among other helpful resources and guides about the U Street area."
