Take a global tour without leaving town at this year’s Passport D.C. On Saturday, more than 40 embassies will welcome visitors at open-house celebrations to kick off a month of cultural goings-on across the city. We recommend the Cinco de Mayo festival at the Embassy of Mexico, free sausages at the Embassy of Serbia and the dance performance at the Embassy of Sri Lanka. And in case the events give you wanderlust, we’ve rounded up a few other multicultural events:

May 10: Israeli Hip-Hop Hadag Nahash (opening for the Washington Jewish Music Festival) is Israel’s Black Eyed Peas, blending hip-hop with Middle Eastern melodies. Fillmore, 8656 Colesville Road, Silver Spring; 8 p.m., $20; 301-960-9999. (Silver Spring)
