Cultural Tourism DC asked some notable Washingtonians to share with us their favorite places or events that are special and unique to DC.
- Women's History Month at Sewall-Belmont House & Museum - the home of the iconic Alice Paul and the historic National Woman's Party- the museum houses the largest intact collection of suffrage and equal rights items and the March schedule for public programs is intense!
- The summer "Concerts on the Avenue" at the US Navy Memorial - an amazing concert series featuring the very talented US Navy Band. I try to get there early enough to snag an outdoor table at 701 Restaurant and enjoy an al fresco dinner with friends.
- Mary McLeod Bethune Council House - the first headquarters of the National Council of Negro Women and Bethune's home, this is a great place to lose yourself in history for an afternoon anytime of the year.
- U.S. Botanic Garden Railway exhibit - Always a festive way to kick off the holiday season and I never get tired of the model trains!
- National Archives Experience – Everyone at our organization goes there a lot. The programming is really engaging and there is always something good going on.
