While many people created resolutions for 2012, the likelihood is that most will give up on them before the end of January. We’re here to help! Here are events and activities to give you inspiration to keep your goals alive!

  1. Get fit/lose weight – Take a walk on one of our many Neighborhood Heritage trails. You’ll get about an hour’s workout on each trail, and learn some history about the area on the way.
  2. Gain weight – Buy a ticket to the Embassy Chef Challenge and pig out! You are sure to eat plenty when chefs from different embassies prepare your dinner.
  3. Save money – Cultural Tourism DC presents free events throughout the year, including WalkingTown DC and Passport DC. Many of our members offer free admission to their exhibits and events as well. Find out about all of those events by signing up for our Events Update here!
  4. Volunteer – Cultural Tourism DC offers exciting events throughout the year that allow you to get to know your city better. Volunteer on a walking tour with WalkingTown DC or be in charge of an Embassy during the Around the World Embassy Tour.
  5.  Better work/life balance – Get out of the office and take a bite-sized walking tour at lunch time during WalkingTown DC.
  6. Read more – Get a copy of Washington At Home, read all the signs on a Neighborhood Heritage Trail, or just keep reading this blog!
  7. Change the commute – Visit Bike and Roll to rent a bike for the day. One commute to work by bike is sure to be more pleasant than sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic on the way to the office.

"I looked at the new brochures for the Deanwood and Civil Rights Heritage Trails. I am always astonished and amazed at the work you do and the quality of it. Beautiful."
