Chief Kenneth B. Ellerbe is a 27-year veteran of the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department and now leads its 2,200-members. He is pursuing a PhD at Howard University in Political Science after receiving a BS and MPA from the University of the District of Columbia.

Vernard R. Gray is the founder of CA-FAM III, Inc. and East River Jazz. He has worked in photo-journalism, filmmaking, videography, clothing design, museum curating, exhibition design, and jazz performance production throughout his career. His work with CA-FAM and East River Jazz promotes programs in the neighborhoods in Wards 7 and 8.

He also uses his sports connection as a three year board member of Team DC, Washington, DC’s LGBT sports connection. Ryan is proud to be a member of the DC gay community and enjoys the opportunities to showcase the best DC has to offer. His new role with Capital Pride affords him opportunities to truly engage his passions and show his pride in the DC community.
